Maculinc: A Refined Script for Real Brand Work
Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Test Maculinc in pure black on pure white—no gradients, no textures—to assess contrast and stroke balance.
- Print a sample at 10 pt, 14 pt, and 20 pt on your intended stock (e.g., uncoated paper vs. kraft label). Notice how ink spread affects fine terminals.
- Drop it into real mockups—not just Photoshop layers. Try it on a candle jar, a tote bag, a Shopify banner. Context changes everything.
- Compare uppercase and lowercase versions side-by-side in your layout. Often, mixing both (e.g., “The Maculinc Co.”) creates richer texture than uniform case.
- Review spacing manually. Default kerning is solid, but tighten ‘To’, ‘We’, or ‘Ya’ if needed—especially in logos.
- Pair it deliberately: try it beside a sturdy serif (like Playfair Display), a neutral sans (like Lato), a minimal script (like Qanelas Soft), and a grounded handwritten font (like Salted). Note where it feels anchored—and where it floats.
